Where It All Began
Tudor Glass was founded in 2004 by Mike Blackmore, who brought with him a wealth of experience gained during his years working with sealed units and glass at Pilkington. Based in Basildon, Essex, Mike saw a growing demand for high-quality sealed units in the local area and decided it was time to put his expertise to work in his venture.
His mission was simple yet ambitious: to supply reliable, high-quality sealed glass units to local installers with a level of service that only a truly passionate, hands-on company could offer. Armed with deep industry knowledge and a genuine love for the trade, Mike laid the foundation for what has grown into one of the region’s most trusted glass manufacturing businesses.

Still a Family, Always Professional
Tudor Glass is more than a company—it’s a legacy. Mike and I started the business together, and today I’m honoured to carry that vision forward. We’ve grown as a company, but we’ve never lost our family-first ethos. Our customers know us not just for our products, but for our people—the dedicated professionals who genuinely care about the quality and service we deliver.
It’s been an incredible journey. From humble beginnings with just six team members and a single van servicing a handful of local installers, Tudor Glass has grown steadily, year after year. We now produce hundreds of sealed units each week, and our instantly recognisable red Tudor Rose logo is a familiar sight across the region.
Some of our proudest milestones include moving into a larger manufacturing facility in 2008, supplying specialist glass to the BMW Mini Factory in Cowley, and even contributing custom leaded glass to the popular TV show Ground Force. These moments represent not just our growth, but the trust clients place in us.

Looking Forward
No matter how much the industry evolves, one thing remains the same: our commitment to quality, speed, and flexibility. Customers want their glass units delivered quickly and made to a high standard. We make that happen—every day—through smart processes, passionate people, and a focus on getting the job done right the first time.
At Tudor, we combine the best of both worlds: the professionalism of a leading manufacturer with the warmth of a family-run business. We haven’t given in to automation at the expense of quality—our success is built on real people, with real knowledge, doing real work. We know our customers by name, and they know they can rely on us.
As the demand for more energy-efficient and innovative glazing solutions continues to grow, so will we. Over the next 5–10 years, Tudor Glass will stay ahead of the curve—investing in new technology, expanding our offerings, and continuing to deliver the personal, dependable service that has been our hallmark from day one.
